Hydration/Packs

One of the most important

things to remember while

cycling, as with any other

physical activity, is to keep

well hydrated.  Your body

relies on water to keep it

going and with the proper

hydration, you will perform

better.  A water bottle on

your bicycle frame will do

the job, but hydration

systems in the form of a

backpack (such a Camelbak)

makes even more sense.

Water is more easily

accessible and people

tend to drink more because

it is convenient.  They

also keep the water cooler

and you can carry two or

three litres.

Cargo space is needed in some form on almost every bicycle.  Whether it's

something as small as a cell phone or wallet or as large as groceries, something

is available to carry it on your bike.  Small bags that fit under the seat will fit items

such as keys or emergency tools.  A luggage rack can be mounted to the back of most

bikes and panniers or bags of all sizes can be mounted to that.  Even overnight trips

are made possible this way.
